In Timesheet, what is procedure for handling an employee who is leaving my company?
There are three main actions you need to take in Timesheet when an employee is leaving your company. They are:
- Deactivate that user's approval processes (time, expense, and mileage)
- Change the user's password to prevent them from logging in to Timesheet
- Submit and approve all of the user's open and submitted time, mileage and expense sheets
An optional fourth step, hiding the user, should only be taken if you do not wish to be able to view and report upon that user's historical time records.
How can I use Timesheet to make special announcements to my team?
Timesheet includes open HTML areas on most time entry screens and these are great places for announcements. Timesheet Administrators (and any other users whose role allows them to modify time entry screens) can enter text to be displayed in these areas. You can even use basic HTML tags like <B>, <I> and <FONT> to change the font size and color, or to create effects.
The possibilities for communication are nearly endless. One customer even put one person on a separate timesheet and then announced a surprise birthday party for him in the open HTML area of everyone else's timesheet. In the end, the best advice is to keep these messages fresh. The same old notification to 'Turn in your Timesheet by EOD Friday' doesn't get read after several weeks.
