Configuring IE For Cube Reports
Go to your browser's menu bar and select Tools > Internet Options > Security (tab) > click the Custom Level button at the bottom > scroll down to 'Miscellaneous' > click the 'Enable' button on 'Access data sources across domains'.
Additionally, you may need to add your Timesheet server to the Trusted Sites list inside of Internet Explorer. You can do this by accessing the Tools menu from the Menu Bar then selecting Internet Options > Security Tab > Trusted Sites Icon > Sites Button > Type in the Correct Site and click OK (make sure to include the http:// with your trusted site - if you don't it will NOT work!)
Finally, if your Office Web Components (OWC) installation is corrupt, when the javascript tries to create the ActiveX control for that version, the browser just quits. This is a BROWSER/OWC PROBLEM, which is triggered by Timesheet but not actually a Timesheet problem.
The first thing you need to check is to make sure your Office Web Components version matches your version of MS Office. Here are the corresponding versions:
- Office 97, 2000 = OWC 9
- Office XP/2002 = OWC 10
- Office 2003 = OWC 11
Make sure these match or cube reports will not work!
To check your OWC version on Win2000/NT, click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs To check your OWC version on WinXP PRO, click Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
In the Add/Remove Programs menu, the version numbers correspond like this:
- OWC 9 = Microsoft Office Web Components 2000
- OWC 10 = Microsoft Office XP Web Components
- OWC 11 = Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components
If you need to OWC, find you MS Office CD and install it from there. If you do not have access to a Office install CD, you can download OWC here:
If for some reason you had a mismatching Office and OWC version, uninstall the wrong OWC version and install the right one. This will resolve your problem.
How can I get an approval signature on my web-based Journyx timesheet?
Journyx Timesheet includes over 25 predefined reports. One of these is a printable timesheet. When an employee is satisfied that all of his/her time has been entered correctly, s/he can run this report. Timesheet administrators can add signature lines to the report "footer" via the Report Modification screen. This timesheet can then be printed out by the employee, signed and faxed or mailed as needed.
