How do I change the default date format in Timesheet?
On the main Admin page under Application Settings >> Global Preferences >> Screen Appearance you can choose from a list of standard date formats to set the date display throughout Timesheet. You can set both a long and short date format (i.e., reports use the long date format and calendars use the short date format). You can view each format in an example using today's date by clicking on Modify and viewing the ex. text on the same page. These date settings apply to the entire installation.
How do I enable new options for project approvals?
Timesheet includes the ability to set up approval processes that are specific to individual Projects. These approvals can be used in tandem with or in place of period approvals (templates assigned to individual employees). In Timesheet v5.5, there are two new settings for project approvals:
- Show Approvers Full Sheet: When setting up a project approval template, you have the option to configure the template to display only the records the project approver is approving for a particular user, or you can set it to display all records on the user's sheet (with the records subject to approval highlighted). This setting is useful if you want your project approver to be able to see other projects (not subject to his approval) that the user has been working on. This setting can be enabled by clicking on the Approvals link on the main Projects page next to the selected Project and changing the Show Approvers Full Sheet option to Yes.
- Show Record Details on Project Approver Screen: A project approver can view a summary of the items awaiting his approval by clicking on the numeric link next to Project in his Approval Queue box on the main Admin screen. This summary screen displays the following information: Project, User Login, User Full Name, Entry Type, Period, Approver Login, Approver Name, Status, Level, Amount & History. In order to view sheet details associated with each approval, the project approver must click on the link under Period to pull up the sheet view of the records. However, it is now possible to display the specifics of the associated records on the summary screen below the approval item by enabling a Global Preference. You can enable this detailed view under Application Settings >> Global Preferences >> Project Management. If you set Show record details on project approver screen? to Yes, the project approver will automatically see the record details (i.e., Bill Type, Comments) on his summary screen. This setting is helpful when approving large numbers of project items at once because it cuts out the step for clicking to view the full sheet for each item.
