Timesheet
Technical Specifications
Each time record consumes approximately 650 bytes of permanent storage, though complex business needs can drastically increase this value. For this reason, we recommend at least 1 GB of RAM and 40 GB of permanent storage. Additional storage may be necessary depending on the number of users and the back-end components.

Web Server Information
Journyx Timesheet employs Apache as the default Unix/Linux web server. Windows platforms offer the choice between Xitami (called TIWS in the installation and technical documentation) shipped as the internal web server or IIS if it is installed and enabled on your machine. IIS is recommended for all but the smallest Windows installations.
Database Information
Journyx Timesheet ships with a default database. The default for Journyx Timesheet for UNIX is PostgreSQL v7.3.6. The Windows version of Journyx Timesheet ships with PostgreSQL v8.3.7 as its default; however, integration is available with other ODBC compliant databases, including DB/2, Oracle and SQL Server³.
Prior to Timesheet v7.8, the default database for Windows versions was MSDE. PostgreSQL replaced MSDE as the default Windows database because Microsoft ended support for MSDE. Existing customers who are running on MSDE and upgrading to Timesheet v7.8 will need to run the full Windows installer (rather than the patch upgrade) in order to upgrade to PostgreSQL.
If you wish to continue running MSDE, you can simply use the patch upgrade for 7.8.
¹ (Limited Support) Microsoft has officially ended support for Windows 2000 Server and is no longer creating security patches for it. Thus, Journyx strongly recommends that all Windows customers transition to Windows 2003 Server at their earliest convenience. Timesheet will continue to function on Windows 2000 Server so long as the Windows installation remains secure, but once the security of the box is compromised (due to the lack of Windows security updates from Microsoft) Timesheet may be compromised and could be unrecoverable.
² Timesheet 7.8 is the final release that will support this version of glibc.
³ Journyx Timesheet is supported on current, manufacturer-maintained releases of these databases.
